The Competition

Why enter

There is a prize of US$500 for the winner and US$250 for the runner up. The closing date is 30th November 2020, and the winners will be announced at the end of the year.

How to enter?

See, snap and send. That’s all there is to it. When you notice a crop showing signs of a nutrient deficiency, take a good photo of it.

What should I photograph?

The 2020 IPI Photo Contest is open to images of any nutrient deficiency in any crop. The leaves are most likely to show signs or symptoms. But you may notice problems in fruits, buds, roots and so on.

Can I enter more than one photo?

Yes. Increase your chances of winning the competition by entering up to 10 of your best photos.

Why does IPI run this Photo Contest?

Our Photo Contest is held in memory of our dear colleague Ricardo Melgar, a talented crop nutrition specialist.
He strongly believed in the power of people to promote crop stories through, for example, taking and sharing a photo of a crop showing signs of a nutrient deficiency.

Good luck and we look forward to seeing your photos!
